Technical

Android (operating system)
A mobile operating system developed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance; used by various mobile devices such as phones and tablets
cognitive or memory prosthetic
A device (often computer-based) that helps people to remember or otherwise extends their cognitive capabilities
iOS
Apple's mobile operating system; supports various Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
smart device or smart mobile device
A small (often handheld) electronic device such as a smartphone, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or other PDA (personal data assistant)
Windows Mobile (WM)
A mobile operating system developed by Microsoft that was used by some smartphones; superseded by Windows Phone
Windows Phone (sometimes called Windows Phone 7)
A mobile operating system developed by Microsoft used by some smartphones; successor to the Windows Mobile platform
